From a Sri Lankan multimedia studio to an Australian engineering house
CODEDAGGER didn’t start as a software company. Founded in 2015 in Sri Lanka as Chipset Worldwide, the studio’s early years were spread across photography, videography, web development, animation, editing, and social media marketing — the kind of scrappy, do-everything work that funds a fledgling business while it figures out what it’s actually good at.
What it was good at was tech. As the client work narrowed, so did the focus, and in 2018 the studio was rebuilt from the ground up as CODEDAGGER — re-based in Australia and re-pointed squarely at software: AI, cloud infrastructure, web platforms, CRM, and eCommerce. The scrappy startup instinct stayed; the scope got sharper.
Engineering today is anchored by talent based back in Sri Lanka, working alongside Australian-based delivery — the same cross-border setup that’s shaped the business since day one.

Meet the founder
Shane Peiris
Founder & CEO
Shane founded CODEDAGGER after years spent building software across engineering, cloud infrastructure, and, more recently, applied AI systems. That background is what shapes how the company operates: production-first, security-first, and allergic to work that never leaves the whiteboard.
CODEDAGGER exists because too many growing businesses were stuck choosing between slow, expensive agencies and freelancers who disappear mid-project. Shane still acts as principal architect and engineer on every project the company takes on — nothing gets handed off to a junior team once the contract is signed, so each build gets his direct, hands-on attention from the first line of code to launch.
